How much water pressure it can handle?
Stainless Steel handles pressure much better than plastics. It handles much more pressure than products like Moka Pots, and AeroPress. Coffee making is all physics: your favorite coffee grounds, hot water, metal filter, water resistance (by which pressure is established) and your skills.
How do I manage water temperature drops in the coffee maker?
The coffee maker’s stainless steel parts can lower water temperature from 99.9°C to about 80°C during initial rinsing due to heat absorption. Follow these steps for optimal coffee extraction at around 90°C:
Rinse to Preheat: Rinse the coffee maker with hot water. The first rinse may drop the temperature to 80°C as the stainless steel absorbs heat.
Second Rinse: Add more hot water, letting excess overflow from the open-top water holder to raise the temperature to ~90°C.
Set Up Coffee Grounds: Place coffee grounds in the cup and secure it before rinsing. The metal filter prevents water from disturbing the grounds during rinsing. Tip: Add a paper filter on top of the metal filter for enhanced separation of water and grounds, if needed.
Assemble and Seal: Attach the pre-rinsed pressure tube and lock it in place.
Press Water Through: Fill the pressure tube with hot water and use the 20mm stainless steel piston to slowly press water through the grounds for effective extraction.
