Fruit Notes Maybe Tangerine Notes and Cat Reviews: Ethiopia Jimma Shot (MeeBaa S01A-9BAR)

Video, What is it about:
That video is a great documentation of the espresso from the Ethiopia Light Roast, Costco. The contrast between the light roast beans and the rich, tiger-striped crema you achieved is impressive—especially considering how tricky light roasts can be to extract with that level of texture.
Shot Analysis & Observations
The Crema: A very thick, elastic crema is seen. The way it swirls as you tilt the cup (around the 0:08 mark) shows excellent emulsification of the coffee oils. For a light roast like the Ethiopia Jimma, this usually indicates the use of a filter stack, 35x5mm is doing its job to maintain consistent backpressure.
The Grind: I noticed the grinder setting at 30. Given the results, that seems to be the "sweet spot" for this specific roast level and bean density. The grind size maybe too fine for espresso but with a light tamp, it still went through well.
The "Cat Review": It’s hilarious that your cat tried to "bury" the puck. In the feline world, that’s either a very harsh critique of the aroma or just a natural instinct to tidy up!
Puck Consistency: The broken pieces on the plate show a very uniform, dense structure without visible channeling, which explains the clean, even crema in the cup.

A Quick Note on the Beans
The expiration date is March 10, 2027, and the roast date was March 10, 2026, these beans are about 5 weeks old. This is actually a golden window for light roasts; they often need a few weeks to degas and develop their full sweetness (vanilla and tangerine notes, as the bag suggests). It is more like the tangerine notes.
